Marko and Alex Ayling are brothers, backpackers, and video bloggers on a mission to explore the world through its people. They connect with locals to give you a behind-the-scenes look at different cultural norms.
Originally started by a Dutch visual artist, Caspar Diederik, StoryTravelers is run by a collective of designers traveling the globe. You can really tell in their video editing that these artists are bold, unafraid, and full of wonder, making them excellent travel guides.
3. Exploring Alternatives
Since 2012, Mat and Danielle have been simplifying their lives to become Minimalist Nomads. They now live in a tricked-out camper van that they use to explore alternative living environments throughout Canada. They regularly interview people who are living in tiny houses, off-grid, van life, RV life, sailboat live aboards, and who are exploring long-term travel, minimalism, zero waste living, renewable energy, and much more. They're definitely worth following along to see what's possible for your own travel lifestyle.
2. Sailing La Vagabonde
Riley & Elayna, an Australian couple, are documenting their journey traveling the world by sail despite no previous sailing experience. So far they've crossed the Mediterranean, Atlantic, Caribbean, and now Pacific Ocean. You can join them along as they survive terrifying storms, pirate scares, financial breakdowns, equipment failures, water shortages, and other ‘interesting’ mishaps.
And finally, for Number One! Drum Roll Please...
1. Damon and Jo- Shut Up and Go!
Shut Up and Go! is truly the travel channel for the Millennial generation. I met Jo about three years ago when she was speaking on a panel for women business leaders. She's the biz queen while Damon is the creative king of their quickly growing YouTube channel. They're a dynamic pair of friends who work well on camera and show off the highs and lows of travel.
Damon and Jo are absolutely hilarious and such great teachers that you don't even realize all the jam-packed knowledge they sneak into almost every episode. They will help you learn languages like French, adventure off the beaten path, and make you finally go travel.
